Mayweather vs. Ortiz: Winner will face Manny Pacquiao?

Floyd Mayweather Jr., the undefeated former champion will be in full force when he face Victor ‘Vicious’ Ortiz on their fight on September 17, 2011 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. This could be one of the best fights for 2011 and considered to be an eliminator as the winner of this fight will face Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao who will be fighting Juan Manuel Marquez for the 3rd time this November.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0, 25 KO’s) last fight was a unanimous decision over Shane Mosley on May 1, 2010, who coincidentally Manny Pacquiao beat Mosley convincingly compared to Floyd who is not that impressive.

Victor ‘Vicious’ Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KO’s) has a 6 bout win streak, more importantly he defeated the bright and upcoming prospect Andre Bert in a more dramatic and fashion way to claim the WBC crown in a fight many consider the year’s best. It was a hell of a fight as both fighters expected to launch its lethal power to each other and it was Ortiz who widely considered as the underdog of that fight but he prove all doubters wrong by knocking out Andre Berto.

It was indeed a very big surprised when Floyd Mayweather Jr. come out from retirement and announced that he will challenge Victor Ortiz for a lightweight belt. This could be his workout and if he wins, he will consider the fight against Manny Pacquiao. It has been over the years that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is avoiding Pacquiao with too many excuses.

But would Victor Ortiz allow Mayweather to realize his plans? Ortiz known for his work ethic and lethal power in both hands is not a push over and definitely, he is not here for nothing. He is a champion and he wants’ to showcase that via beating Floyd Mayweather Jr. convincingly and have the opportunity to face Manny Pacquiao instead Floyd Mayweather Jr. will do.

Indeed, this fight could be more exciting and entertaining if both fighters will live to its reputation and showcase their real skills in the boxing ring. It is expected, that Victor Ortiz wants’ to prove to Floyd that he is not a kid anymore and he has high respect on the former champion but he means business here and he wants’ Manny Pacquiao after their fight.

One thing for sure, millions of fans around the world will witness how Floyd Mayweather Jr. will perform and how he will match up pretty well with Victor Ortiz. Because this young guy and a warrior will definitely give Floyd a hard time to make his show on fight night…. Victor Ortiz is bound to shock the world and stop Floyd Mayweather Jr. dream on facing Manny Pacquiao because that would be his prayers not fighting on Pacquiao.

Would it be Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao? Or Victor Ortiz vs. Manny Pacquiao in the making?

Mayweather laughs off Ortiz threat during HBO “Face Off”

Undefeated, five-division boxing World Champion Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather was all smiles, while WBC Welterweight champion ‘Vicious’ Victor Ortiz exuded nervous energy as he dug deep in his bag of verses, when both protagonists faced off in front of HBO’s Max Kellermen to promote their September 17 clash at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

There’s no confusing who the seasoned vet is next to the anxious rookie in front of the cameras, as Mayweather mocked and patronized Ortiz throughout the 12-minute feature, sending a message that he isn’t the least bit concerned with the young champion in front of him. At one point, Mayweather even interrupted Kellerman’s questioning to point out his fashion sense in naming the brand of shoes he was wearing.

Roach’s Target : Pacquiao To Knock Out Mosley!

It will be a tough task for Manny Pacquiao as Freddie Roach the five time trainer of the year order Pacquiao to win the fight by not just only winning in points but to knock out Shane Mosley to become the first fighter to stop the legendary Mosley of their fight on May 7, 2011 at MGM Grand.

Showing no mercy on his sparring session that only shows that Manny Pacquiao is not taking Shane Mosley lightly and he will show no mercy by disposing Shane on their fight. A knockout is a bold prediction and it is not impossible if Sugar Shane Mosley is ready to slug it out and wanted to have a bigger upset against Manny Pacquiao.

Shane Mosley is much bigger and known for his quickness and power. With his vaunted power and quickness who can really match to Manny’s speed and power, this could be hard for Pacquiao to beat and knockout Mosley easily. He believes that Manny is hittable and it is only human that can be beaten once he will stick to his game plan. He will never back down and he will give Manny Pacquiao a hell of a fight.

Manny Pacquiao remains the man to beat in this fight and he is dead serious to silent all critics that he chooses Mosley for an easy fight. He never back down from any opponents and every time he prepares, it’s all in serious mode. Manny believes that Mosley is a no joke fighter and he has been proven over the years. Fighting almost two decades and it has been beating great fighters like Oscar Dela Hoya is such a great fate. He believes that Mosley packs with surprises and for that he prepares something big come fight night.

Mosley would probably the bigger man and he will be in attack mode and keep pressuring Pacquiao and try to corner and unloading some bombs to weaken Manny Pacquiao. Upset in the making? But it could be Mosley nightmare also as no one ever catch Pacquiao and threaten to be knockdown. Manny Pacquiao has his style and he can take punches and with powerful counter that can send any fighter to the canvass.

Pacquiao vs. Mosley would be probably the best fight available for this year but there will be Manny Pacquiao show in the years to come and that would be probably the biggest and explosive fight in the making.

Potential fights would be Pacquiao vs. Ortiz, Pacquiao vs. Marquez and Pacquiao vs. Mayweather.

Pacquiao vs. Ortiz: What do you think?

Is this possible? Manny Pacquiao vs. Victor Ortiz collision in a very near future. Recently, Victor “Vicious” Ortiz excelerate as he shock the previously unbeaten and widely considered as the fighter who can possibly beat Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, Andre Berto.

Victor Ortiz, in his first fight at welterweight division, shocked the world by unanimously won his fight against one of the greatest hope in boxing Andre Berto on Saturday at the MGM Brand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

He got a message from one man who he followed throughout the fight the words is: “ Stick to the game plan. You’re a strong fighter. Keep going for it. Don’t take anybody’s negativity” Said Ortiz. “I just did as he said.” And the man who encourages and advised him is no other than the great Manny Pacquiao.

Now because of Pacquiao words, Victor Ortiz is one of the possible opponents for Pacquiao and this is a very big possibility that this two fighter’s will fought each other before the pound-for-pound king retires.

They have similarity; both fighters have speed, power and the excitement that these two fighters can give to the fans. They are known for their knocking power and a nonstop action fighter who loves to attack and take down their opponent in the early rounds and give the fans what they are craving for.

But is Victor Ortiz ready for big time? Is he is ready Manny Pacquiao? Many believes it could be a possibility but still Manny Pacquiao will prevail because he is more refined and established fighter who is now considered as the greatest fighter of all time.

Would Ortiz would still use what Manny Pacquiao’s advise and apply to the man who is simply share his thoughts how to fight and how to win?

Indeed, this could be more exciting compared to what is align right now by Bob Arum. A next generation fighter fighting the present and undeniably the best fighter in the land today Manny Pacquiao. This could be one of the explosive and tremendous fight in the history of boxing.

Take your pick guys!
