‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley: Ambitious Old Fighter!

It was a little bit surprised when I read an article about Shane Mosley statement that what he was aiming in fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr. after disposing Manny Pacquiao on their upcoming fight this coming May 7, 2011. He is now displaying over confidence that he can beat Manny Pacquiao and will shock the world. This fighter is inviting Pacquiao to a word war and destructs the 8th division title and the pound-for-pound.

Though, personally I am not counting this as an easy fight for Manny but the way I analyze and forecast this fight, it would totally a dominating performance again by Manny Pacquiao. With proper training and no complacency, Manny Pacquiao will annihilate ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley.

Mosley statement might be based on his performance against Antonio Margarito. As Manny Pacquiao, was not able to stop the ‘Tornado’ on their previous fight. Well that would be enough to compare his performance to Manny’s performance and to say that he can beat the Pacman?

He even stated that he can knock out Manny Pacquiao that everybody will be shock and nobody expected to happen will happen on May 7, 2011. Showing a confidence is just like boosting himself to prepare for a brutal finish of his career.

As Shane Mosley said:

“It’s been proven. My knockout record has proved it,” I can knock him out,” Mosley told Fanhouse.com

This statement is a warning and Manny Pacquiao knows already about it. It was properly studied and the team Pacquiao is not taking Sugar Shane Mosley for granted. Team Pacquiao has a high respect of the man that is now widely considered as one of the greatest fighters of his weight class.

Mosley will surely do what he wants to do and so with Manny Pacquiao. This will be surely an explosive match as the two faster fighters will collide will stop all doubts as to who is really the fastest hands in boxing.

Donaire vs. Montiel : February 19, 2011

Fernando Montiel Vs Nonito Donaire!

All set and go for one of the highly anticipated fights in 2011 Nonito Donaire vs. Fernando Montiel.

It has been said that there is no such fighter in the bantamweight category that can beat Montiel. But with the emerging Nonito Donaire, it was totally changed and many believe that this could be the end of Fernando Montiel reign in bantamweight division.

Fernando Montiel, dominated the bantamweight class has been around for decade and he faces world class fighters in his division under his resume. As we all remembered, he beat Hozumi Hasegawa of Japan in 2010 and unified the bantamweight belts. That was probably his biggest win and put him in the top of his division.

But Nonito Donaire, is a great example of a fighter who put the fight into his brain and implement it through his punches. He is a great thinker with a combination of speed and power. No other fighters I’ve seen like him in this generation. Even Manny Pacquiao was all praised by this young man and even believes that nobody can beat him for as long he will continue his style and avoid over confidence.

Donaire was the fighter of beat the most feared boxer in his division Vic Darchinyan in way of TKO. Nonito Donaire, the only fighter who delivered and sent Darchinyan to the canvass in just one counter punch. That was the time for Nonito Donaire to position himself as one of the promising fighters in the world.

This could be an exclusive fight and many predicted that this would not go in the distance. Somebody will fall and somebody will go home crying.

I bet it would simply be the hardest fight for Fernando Montiel and it would be an explosive performance by Nonito Donaire.

Here’s the comparison:

Nonito Donaire , 25-1 (17 KO’s), San Leandro, CA/Talibon, Philippines

Fernando Montiel, 44-2-2 (34 KO’s), Los Mochis, Mexico, World Bantanweight Champion

Take your pick amigos!

Its Mayweather not Pacquiao is the greatest!

FLOYD MAYWEATHER: THE GREATEST ?

Many believe that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the greatest fighter of all time and not Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines. But this is a sort of big argument as it was already nailed in every boxing fans mind that Manny Pacquiao is the greatest fighter in the history of boxing eclipsing all boxing greats including Muhammad Ali.

But wait, they said that because of Floyd Mayweather’s win loss record and his significant wins against top contenders and future hall of famers’ fighters makes him ahead of Manny Pacquiao as the top fighter and the best of the world. He beat the best fighters of his generation to name a few: Zab Judah, Carlos Baldomir, Juan Manuel Marquez, DeMarcus Corley and other big names.

But hey wait! What about Manny Pacquiao? I think all of the great fighters who are so dominating and almost unbeatable were beaten not only by points but in knockouts with an impressive rout against fighters who are bigger and stronger than him. Only Manny Pacquiao who can beat those big guys impressively and never back down from any challenges that the opposition can give. Just to name a few: Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito, Juan Manuel Marquez, Eric Morales, Antonio Barrera, Ricky Hatton etc. These fighters are very much capable of beating and disposing Manny Pacquiao but because of Manny’s speed and power and together with the development of Freddie Roach, Manny Pacquiao become and no doubt the better and the greatest fighter of all time.

I would rather believe, if Floyd Mayweather Jr. will sign and face Manny Pacquiao in a mega blockbuster showdown and best Pacquiao convincingly to stop all the arguments and to dethrone Pacquiao as the pound-for-pound king and the greatest fighter of all time. In that way, he would simply become a true champion that if he can really manage to squeeze past Manny Pacquiao.

On May 7, 2011, another historic in the making in boxing as Manny Pacquiao faces off against Sugar Shane Mosley. This could be the defining moment for Mosley but Manny Pacquiao would simply too much for him and you will know what this all mean come fight night.

Manny Pacquiao's Fights

It will not be the last fight of Manny Pacquiao and it’s not going to be his last year of his illustrious boxing career for sure. This was being revealed and announced by his promoter itself Bob Arum. According to him, Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao will retire not just yet but it will be on 2013 and that is for good.

Now, a lot of Manny Pacquiao’s followers and boxing fans are anticipating that on his last 6 fights should be a classic. By the way this is after Sugar Shane Mosley fight on May 7, 2011.

They believed that to satisfy everyone and to stop all doubts, Manny Pacquiao should face and fight with the best fighters in the world. A lot of names and these fighters are very much eager to land a spot for those elusive last 6 fights of Pacquiao. The Manny Pacquiao team and Bob Arum of Top Rank Promotions will certainly give what the fans are craving for.

There’s a lot names and they are all qualified facing the pound-for-pound king and the fighter of the decade Manny Pacquiao. No. 1 in the list Floyd Mayweather Jr., the man who broke every fans heart as he never sign the contract to fight the legendary fighter Manny Pacquiao.

Another fighter is on the list is Juan Manuel Marquez, Marquez is widely considered as the only 1 of the two fighters (this includes Mayweather) that is capable of beating Manny Pacquiao. Marquez, the fighter who demonstrated how to initialize and contain Pacquiao’s power and speed by fighting intelligently and never back down on every Manny Pacquiao attacks.

Juan Manuel Marquez and Floyd Mayweather Jr. is just 2 of the many warriors who are in the hotlist for his last fight and only the team Pacquiao and ofcourse the Top Rank who can decide on who will Manny facing and fighting on his 6 last fights after Sugar Shane Mosley.

But Pacquiao is not showing any complacency on his upcoming fight against Shane Mosley. As he knows, that Mosley is such a very good, intelligent, strong and a complete fighter to face off. It is not an easy fight as everybody is saying but it would be an exciting, classic and a war on May 7, 2011.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is an easy choice!

Floyd Mayweather Jr. will not fight Manny Pacquiao

It has been noted from Erik Morales father that: “ Manny Pacquiao Can Kill Floyd Mayweather Jr. very easily.”

This might be true and he believes that Floyd Mayweather Jr. was anticipating also that upon fighting Manny Pacquiao is very much different in fighting other fighters. Manny Pacquiao is indeed surely will give him a real fight that he will never forget on his entire boxing career.

Jose Morales father of comebacking boxing superstar and fought with Manny Pacquiao in a classic trilogy, believes that if the fight between Pacquiao vs. Mayweather will eventually realize, it would be a nonstop action and a brutal finish. A brutal finish in a sense that Manny Pacquiao will showcase how a better fighter he is compared to Floyd ‘Pretty Boy’ Mayweather Jr. He is certain; it will be a Manny Pacquiao show all throughout the fight.

Statement from www.boxinginsider.com

“I believe Manny Pacquiao will win the fight by the eighth round,” says Jose Morales, who taught his son Erik how to box at the age of five and was a former amateur boxer himself.

When asked why he believes Pacquiao will conquer Mayweather, Jose Morales explained, "He's more aggressive. He's very aggressive. He's very sharp, throws many accurate punches and keeps the pressure on his opponents. That's why he will win."

I then ask if Mayweather can handle what Pacquiao will assault him with?

"No, he can't," answered Jose Morales. "He shows it with Jose Luis Castillo. He can't handle that aggression. Mayweather is the kind of boxer where it is very dangerous for him - the aggressive boxing - because he can't handle it."

Next, I ask if he thinks Mayweather is scared to sifn the contract to box Manny Pacquiao for an estimated $40,000,000?

"The punch of Manny Pacquiao can kill him very easily," replies Morales, with no hesitation or doubt in his voice. "It can put him down very easily. So he cannot handle that."

Definitely, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is very much afraid in fighting the Pound for Pound King and he tried to elude fighting Manny just to save face. He knows already that he will be beaten by Manny Pacquiao once he will agree fighting it.

Also, many boxing experts believed with what Jose Morales is saying. But it is always a possibility that these fighters will fight each other very very soon. it would challenge Floyd to come out from his shelf and sign a contract that would lead to a blockbuster fight of all time.

Why not Juan Manuel Marquez!

Pacquiao vs. Marquez II Interview

Juan Manuel Marquez was claiming that he was robbed 2 times of his fight against Manny Pacquiao the Pound for Pound King in boxing. He said that it was clearly he won the two fights and it will never happen that Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao will beat him in true and honest judging.

That’s why he was craving for a trilogy. A final fight most likely against the undisputed 8th time world champion in 8 different divisions Manny Pacquiao.

Now, there are some critics that Manny Pacquiao is ducking real and quality fighters in favor of overmatched, big but slow fighters just to fake the fans that he is really the greatest fighter of all time. Considering that all of the fights of Manny Pacquiao have been considered as one of the best fights in boxing history and one of the most watched and richest fight, still many believes that he chooses fighters which he thinks he can beat it with his speed and power.

But wait, its Bob Arum, he is the one chooses an opponent for Manny Pacquiao and it’s not Manny who decide on it. But the decision is not only mainly from Bob Arum but it is also decided by the entire Pacman team.

Juan Manuel Marquez would have been in the position in fighting Manny Pacquiao this coming May 7, 2011 and it should not be Sugar Shane Mosley. JMM fought great battles in last year and he is catching up in weight to fight Manny Pacquiao. This is how Marquez determined to prove to the world that he is the true winner and for his two loses is not for him but to Manny Pacquiao.

If Manny will be successful in dethroning Sugar Shane Mosley in their on May 7, 2011, Juan Manuel Marquez in paper he is the only one fitted to fight the legendary and fighter of the decade Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao.

Mosley has a chance!

PACQUIAO vs MOSLEY IS OFFICIAL

“When you punch as hard as Mosley you always have a shot” – Lamont Peterson

That’s the statement of Lamont Peterson the junior welterweight contender. He is a potential foe with WBA Champion Amir Khan and that his very intriguing comments on his stand about the upcoming blockbuster fight of Pacquiao vs. Mosley on May 7, 2011.

But he doesn’t know what his talking about. Did he ever have a try to taste the mettle of Manny Pacquiao?

This guy is out of his mind; Mosley is not a knockout artist even on his younger days in boxing. If you try to imagine how Mosley evolved as a boxer, you won’t hesitate to say that Manny Pacquiao is having a lot of advantages on their fight this coming May 7, 2011.

The only Mosley fight that surprised me is when he defeated Antonio Margarito, it was totally a clear upset. After he shows the real Sugar Shane Mosley the old and washed up fighter.

Lamont Peterson also noted that Manny Pacquiao upset over Dela Hoya. I would really disagree and there is no accurate reason why Manny upset the Golden Boy Oscar Dela Hoya. It was very evident that it was all Pacman showing from round 1 to the last round where Oscar retired and surrendered. They thought, because of Oscar decent record and beating great fighters on his resume, it was enough to outpoint and outbox the speed and power of the no.1 fighter of this generation Manny Pacman Pacquiao.

On May 7, 2011, this could be the day that all critics and boxing fans all over the world would simply praise Manny Pacquiao for his overwhelming performance in sports. But let me remind you, Mosley can do another upset against Pacquiao as what he did against Antonio Margarito.

Sugar Shane Mosley Confident in Winning!

Sugar Shane Mosley Video Highlights

Sugar Shane Mosley can neutralize Pacquiao quickness!

Manny Pacquiao vs. Sugar Shane Mosley is on May 7, 2011 and it was indeed the most criticized fight of both fighters with opposite reasons. For Mosley, he is too old and he is in twilight of his career and many believes that there’s a lot of capable and deserving fighters to fight Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao. As for Pacquiao, he is too much for the washed up fighter in Mosley. He should choose someone on his skill and on his level not just because Shane Mosley is the former two time World Champion and twice annihilate Oscar ‘Golden Boy’ Dela Hoya.

But Mosley is very much determine and out to prove the critics wrong. He promised to the world, to fight like a young Sugar Shane Mosley the same way he fought Oscar Dela Hoya in their two encounters in year 2000 and 2003. That means Mosley will displaying a true skill in making it very difficult for Manny Pacquiao to beat him when the square off in a 12-round WBO welterweight title bout at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 7, 2011.

But come to think of it he is already 39 years old; all of his words serve only his motivation to beat the most dangerous man in boxing Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines. Question is, can he turn back the hands of time and stay clear of Pacquiao’s war zone? Can he elude Pacquiao’s speed and power? If he believes that this could be Manny Pacquiao’s hardest test, in return this could be his grand exit in boxing. It was been proven from his past few fights that his so called speed and power are now fading and it seems even with his size and reach advantage over Manny Pacquiao, doesn’t mean he can keep away from Manny’s quickness and sharpness in the ring.

This is still remains to be seen. But still everybody started believing, Mosley the only chances to beat Manny Pacquiao is to throw a lucky punch or injuring Manny Pacquiao.

Manny boxing fans and majority of the boxing analyst that Mosley is not the right opponent of Pacquiao specially when boxing fans are craving for a better quality fights on his last 2 to 3 fights of his career. Pacquiao Pound for Pound King in 2010!

Manny Pacquiao is the Pound for Pound King in Boxing!

USA Today with no argument chose the reigning Pound for Pound King Manny Pacquiao as the “Fighter of the Year” beating the promising and surprising Argentina’s Sergio Martinez.

Now the prestigious and most respected Ring Magazine announced the results of fan poll recently which the Filipino once again topped over Martinez. Manny Pacquiao deserve the best in boxing as he showed how tough he is by disposing fighters with respectable records. He did climb from division to division to face the best fighters because nobody can really fight on his real weight. With that alone it was very unprecedented for a boxer to succeed in 8 different divisions and won 8 titles in 8 divisions.

Boxing writer Michael Rosenthal reported that Manny Pacquiao received 71 percent of the fans votes while Sergio Martinez got only 24 percent. It is not a question if Martinez deserves the award, but it is undeniably that Manny Pacquiao deserves all the awards in boxing.

Though, Ring Magazine said it wasn’t Manny Pacquiao greatest year in terms of accomplishments but it certainly was a productive year and he gives boxing fans a worth of their money.

Now, to start the year in 2011 he will be facing the future hall of fame in boxing no other than Sugar Shane Mosley. Would it be a year of success again for Manny Pacquiao? Or Mosley will shock the world come May 7, 2011? These are only few questions that surround’s in his upcoming fight. Because many believe that Sugar Shane Mosley is not fit to face Manny Pacquiao, he is too old for Pacquiao.

But still, we anticipate for this fight as this could be the invitation for Floyd Mayweather Jr. to accept the proposal to fight the legendary Manny Pacquiao.

Pacquiao vs. Mosley!

Mosley believes he can knockout Pacquiao!

“Sugar” Shane Mosley has the bigger chance to knock out Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao on their scheduled fight on May 7, 2011. This could be Mosley last ditch on his boxing career to make some noise and beat the man they called the ‘Fighter of the Decade’.

It has been confirmed by Bob Arum itself that the next fight for Manny Pacquiao is the old reliable “Sugar” Shane Mosley for Pacquaio’s World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title. Sugar Shane believes that Pacquiao is not impossible to beat, he can be beaten.

The 39-year-old warrior is very much confident that he is the right man to face Manny Pacquiao and not those promising young fighters who are claiming they deserved the spot to fight Pacquiao and not an old fighter like “Sugar” Shane Mosley.

Mosley believes that he fought many great boxers and future hall of famers and that could be his advantage on fighting Manny Pacquiao this coming May 7, 2011. As what he said:

"Pacquiao's defense is not as good as Floyd Mayweather's defense," he told the Boxing Scene website.

He wants’ a knockout and not only winning by unanimous, majority or split decision. A very confident Mosley is now on his way to stop the dominance of Manny Pacquiao in the boxing world. He believes that Manny Pacquiao never been fought a real fighter like him.

Can he stand on his statement? As we can remember, he has been talking too much about his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. But when they squared off, it was an old washed up fighter fighting the coward boxer of all time. He never been showing the things he has been talking during the pre-fight, but instead it was the opposite side.

On May 7, 2011, Can “Sugar” Shane Mosley live up to his statement? Or what he wanted on this fight, is to have the biggest paycheck of his career and enough to settle down as a boxer.

Pacquiao vs. Mosley 2011!

Pacquiao vs. Mosley on May 7, 2011

Is this true? Manny Pacquiao vs. Sugar Shane Mosley on May 07, 2011?

Many have been thought that Manny Pacquiao would face a great challenge on his next fight after disposing Antonio Margarito in a brutal fashion last November 2010.

There have been interested fighters and willing to slug it out with the No. 1 Pound for Pound Boxer in the World Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao. Fighters who sought for a mega fight against Pacquiao are Juan Manuel Marquez, Sergio Ramirez and Andre Berto. Many boxing analyst believe that these are the only fighters who can match up well with Manny Pacquiao and will give Manny a better fight.

Though, Sugar Shane Mosley is a great fighter but he is not the one who once beat Oscar Dela Hoya twice. He is now considered a wash up fighter where he was unimpressive during his two previous fights. Many have been asking to drop this fight as this is only a money making fight for both fighters.

Many believe that this is not a good fight (easy money for Manny Pacquiao) as this will be an easy fight for the Pacman. But there are also some people that because of overconfidence of Manny Pacquiao, it will lead to the biggest shocker of the year. If Manny Pacquiao has a speed, Sugar Shane Mosley known for his Power and Speed which is the main weapon for both fighters.

I still believe, though I am not expecting to have Sugar Shane Mosley as the next foe for the No. 1 Pound for Pound fighter. This fight will be an interesting one, if Mosley will come smoking and looking for an upset against Manny Pacquiao then Pacquiao should be better prepared and take this as a serious test to maintain his status as the ‘Fighter of the Decade’.

This is gonna be a huge figh indeed. But still I pick Manny Pacquiao to win it convincingly.
